Usually I write my blog-posts in German, but this time I make an exception :-)

English

First of all…I want to appologize, maybe my English is not right :-( I’m happy about all corrections!!
The hardest part wasn’t editing the pictures…it was the text ;-)

Thursday evening on this warm day…the August, 13th  – here in Germany – is a day with historical background. 54 years ago the Berlin Wall was buildt and split Germany in two parts…the “Cold War” split not only the Country also a lot of families! Thankfully, the Berlin Wall fell down November, 9th 1989! Otherwise…perhaps this game never had happened!

Ok, enough history! :-)

The 1st women’s team of the basketball club “Weddinger Wiesel” is in preparation for the next season. Today they’re trying to find out, which skills need more practise and which are ok right now. The team of the christian organisation “Athletes in Action” is on tour in Germany…to be exact, most of the team-members come from Canada. Now you may realize, why my blog-post is in English!

A game…just practise of course…only a few spectators…and me :-)

The game started…I had no expectations, really! It didn’t take long and I knew which team would be the better one. Hey, you know I’m a Wiesel-Fan, but I can accept and respect better teams.

Sometimes the “Wiesel-Girls” were unfocused, a lot of unnecessary turnovers were the result…the “AiA-Girls” were very friendly, because they haven’t exploited the situation :-P Not everything was bad…the “Wiesel-Girls” fought for the ball and every basket. The final result wasn’t important and finally I saw a good and fair game!

After the game the teams came together. The AiA-Team had a surprise…small energy-drink-bottles were given away and the talks began. I must say, it was very interesting.

The teams sat together in the middle of the playground. They told us a few facts about their organisation and one of the AiA-Team (sorry, No 1, I didn’t remember your name) reported from her experiences…very emotionally.

Well, it was a really nice evening…thank you all!

Hope, you’re enjoying the pictures…feel free to share and comment :-)
